From here the trail rises slightly heading out of the valley, crossing the road to the Schönwies hut and into the Gaisberg valley. The trail levels out heading into the Gaisberg valley until it splits up toward the Mut saddle, and switchbacks up the mountain. Depending on your fitness and ability descend to the Schönwies hut or into the valley toward the Rotmoos glacier and through the Rotmoos valley to the hut. The trail ascends from the Timmelsjoch northward, crosses the Wieten and Röten cirques and eventually reaches the lower Wannen cirque. The ascent to the saddle of the Wannen cirque (2,916 m) is quite exhausting. The view down onto the Wannen cirque lake with its cristal clear blue water is stunning. Follow the ridge to the Wilden Röte, the highest point of the trail at 2,966 m, and on toward the Rotkogl, Hinteren and Vorderen Brunnenkogl. Continue along the ridge to the newly built Brunnenkogl hut. The long descent into Sölden is best broken up by a ”pit stop” at the Falkner guesthouse.
