Heritage and open air museum
The heritage and open air museum Ötztal is definitely worth a visit. It depicts the history of settlement in the Ötz valley: from the modest, rural lifestyle, its industrial development and lifestyle up to the 1950s. Several original houses and agricultural facilities such as a sawmill, a flourmill, a typical granary on poles and a baking oven from the Ötz valley can be observed. An extensive collection of tools used for the cultivation of flax, formerly a profitable crop, complete this impressive exhibition of rural life in the Ötz valley.
