Having recharged, we start into a wonderful day. Across alpine meadows and cirques, we hike to the scenically charming Schwarzsee lake. This intensively researched lake is a natural history book waiting to be read. Deposits at the bottom of the lake allow us to draw conclusions about the climate in the past 10,000 years.

Here at the lake, our next goal, the cross at the Schwarzkogel summit is already smiling down at us. Together we climb the 3,000m-peak. Afterwards we hike leisurely towards the glacier. A hike worth remembering.
