Geological trails

The Ötztal has a lot to offer geologically. The southernmost section of the valley in the area of the Gaisberg valley near Obergurgl is home to the well-known garnets, quartz and mica schist deposits. The landslide landscapes in the area of the Winkelberg in the middle Ötztal and the Forchet at the entrance of the Ötztal allow amazing insights into the world of the Ötztal primary rocks.
